ASHANTI REGIONAL CHAIRMAN, CHAIRMAN WONTUMI SHOOTS HIMSELF IN THE FOOT

Following the closure of Ashanti Regional NPP office by its Land lady over unpaid rent, it is evident that the party Chairman, Chairman Wontumi has shot himself in the foot as his lies about the said building have caught up with him. From this development, Chairman Wontumi can be described as the Ananias of the party and the cry of his party folks now is “…You have not lied just to us but to God.” (Acts 5:1-4).

Does this incidence predict the end of Chairman Wontumi? Is he not the same person who lavishly displayed gold bars on TV claiming he is wealthy? How come he has not been able to settle the monthly rent of the NPP Regional office which is only 1,000 cedis a month? It is this same building that he claims he had purchased for the party, but his lies have now caught up with him from this nonpayment of rent which has consequently led to the closure of the building.

All this while, it appears he has been taking advantage of electorates and lying to them to cover up his schemes. Could it be that some delegates had realized he was a liar and made him have a low turnout of only 70% voting for him in the 2020 general election? Truth indeed cannot be hidden. Judging from the disgrace he’s brought not only to himself but to the NPP, can he be trusted again to be voted as Chairman of the party? Is it possible for the NPP to break the 8 if he is still voted as Ashanti Regional Chairman for the party? Certainly not.

Maybe Chairman Wontumi is living by his name "Wontumi" which in Akan translates as “You cannot”. Obviously, the load of NPP Chairman is too heavy for him and there is now a clarion call for another person to be given the opportunity to serve as Chairman for the NPP in the Ashanti region.

Parts of the aluminum roofing sheets are rusting away, while their remains hang loosely on the tiny erected concrete pillars. Class sessions end abruptly whenever the clouds gather.  “Our roof is ripping off. And when it rains, it leaks into our classroom, so we have to end classes.  “When it leaks, our books get wet and we are not able...

AFTER YEARS OF MINING IN AKWATIA – GHANA’S NEW ARTIFICIAL LAKE, THE ASUBONE STORY AND OUR TOURISM DRIVE  ABSTRACT.... H. BRAKO Diamonds were first discovered in the Gold Coast Colony (Ghana) near the Birim River close to the town of Abomosu in 1919. The Birim diamond discoveries led mining companies to invest along that river. However, not until 1929 did organized diamond mining begin following additional diamond discoveries made by Ghanaian prospectors in the gravels of Bediebewu streams near Tarkwa. In 1924, the Consolidated African Selection Trust (CAST) was formed and became the major diamond mining company in Ghana. Over 2 million carats were mined by CAST from 1924 to 1939. CAST’s early success led to investment in other diamond exploration and mining ventures in West Africa particularly in Ghana – resulting in the establishment of Great Consolidated Diamond (GCD).  1n 1963 Lake Asubone was created artificially in Asubone near Akwatia in Denkyembour District of Gh...
