George Kwame Aboagye, has successfully secured a replacement transformer through the Ministry of Energy for the people of Akim Akroso Amanfrom. The unfortunate breakdown of one of the ECG transformers supplying electricity to a significant section of the Amanfrom community has resulted in a total blackout for approximately four weeks, causing considerable inconvenience to residents and businesses.   Asene Manso Akroso District's Agenda 111 Hospital remain unfinished leading to Abandonment As of early 2026, many of Ghana’s Agenda 111 hospital projects, initiated in 2021 to provide district and regional hospitals, remain unfinished and non-operational, leading to allegations of abandonment and wasted investment. While some projects are at various stages of completion. Work on many Agenda 111 facilities across the country have stalled, including the project in Asene Manso Akroso district of the Eastern Region. Asene Manso Akroso Assembly Fails To Elect a Presiding Member After Two consecutive Times of Elections The Asene Manso Akroso Assembly (AMA) in the Eastern Region has been unable to elect a Presiding Member (PM) after two consecutive days of voting held on Thursday 26th February and Wednesday 4th March 2026 respectively. The first election which occured on Thursday 26th February saw the incumbent, Hon. Enoch Ofori Eden, securing 11 votes, and Hon. Andrew Dough obtaining 21.  Per Section 27 of the Local Governance Act (Act 936), the Presiding Member must be elected by at least two-thirds of Assembly members. With 34 members in the Assembly, a candidate requires a minimum of 23 votes to be elected.  In effect, the assembly members agreed the meeting be postponed and resume within ten days for another election to determine who becomes the next PM for the assembly.
