Top Notch NPP Members Defects to NDC At Assin Akropong-Wurakese


Several members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from Assin Akropong, Wurakese and it's environs in Assin Central constituency of the Central Region has defeated to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Defected members which includes a former Assembly member of Assin Akropong electoral area in the person of Mr. Tweneboah Kodua, head of NPP Seria callers in the area and others top-notch NPP members in the area. Announcing their resignation on Saturday, 1st June 2024 at a launching of NDC vibrant pressure group who called itself "Eagle Eye Movement" at Assin Akropong, they explained that they viewed NDC as a party who has the needs of Ghanaians at heart and are democratic than the governing NPP administration. 

Defected members assured the rank and file of the NDC of their total commitment, determination and dedication in working hard to ensure that a change was effected to bring development to the people of Assin Akropong-Wurakese and the entire Assin Central constituency. They sight the neglecting of Assin Akropong-Wurakese by the NPP administration and the bad nature of their roads as reasons for their defection.

The current leadership of NPP as a team that needed to be rescued, but for now Ghanaians should join hands to ensure NDC wins the 2024 general election to correct the mistakes of the current administration and address the poor state of infrastructure such as road networks; lack of employment opportunities for the abled youth in the area among others, Mr Tweneboah Kodua stated.

Meanwhile, Assin Central NDC parliamentary candidate Hon Nurein Mijimah commended the defected NPP members.

He said the NPP has taken electorates in Assin Central enclave for a ride because the party believes whether or not they improve the living standards of the people, they will still vote for the NPP.

He said many major developmental projects in the  including water infrastructure, Schools, roads, market among others were executed under John Mahama led NDC government.

The NDC constituency chairman for Assin Central, Mr. Baba Galibah, welcomed the defectors and praised them for making the right decision at the right time to join the party.

Mr. Frank Asante, the leader of the newly established pressure group (Eagle Eye Movement) stated boldly that, with his team they will stand firm, be steadfast, resolute, work hard, assist and support the party in diverse ways for the Assin Central parliamentary candidate Hon. Nurein Mijimah and John Dramani Mahama to win in 2024 so that residents of Assin Akropong-Wurakese will also have a good share of real development.’’
