STOP SOLELY RELYING ON COCOA FARMING... BEST FARMER ADVISES

DON'T SOLELY DEPEND ON COCOA PRODUCTION.... BEST FARMER ADVISES

The Assin Fosu Municipal 2018 best farmer Mr. Nicholas Asare-Kyere has called on the farmers to engage themselves in oil palm And coconut plantation and stop depending solely on cocoa bean.

According to him, Cocoa is a seasonal crop which means, if you are a farmer and you rely  solely on cocoa productions, such farmer will definitely face financial difficulties when the cocoa season is over.

He said oil palm and coconut are such an income yielding cash crops but most farmers in Ghana do not know, but he can confidently say that, if you are a farmer and you have at least one acre of these crops, you will never call for financial support because when the cocoa season is over, the oil palm or the coconut will be available to help in the other way.

He finally called on the government to introduce a policy like the existing cocoa mass spraying and other policies that are supporting Cocoa farmers which will also help and encourage the farmers who are financially weak to develop the interest of planting other Cash crops as mentioned earlier,
