POLICE DECLARES WOMAN WANTED FOR ALLEGEDLY DEFRAUDING  A COMMUNITY.


The Assin Praso Police has declared a self acclaimed business woman who is in her 40s wanted for allegedly defrauding residents, chief and his elders claiming to offer them loans.


According to the victims of Assin Akyeano community, the alleged fraudster only gave her identity as Abigail who resides at Kumasi in the Ashanti region when she converged with the community in the mid of March this year.


The residents told Owusu Aduomi a local reporter at the area that, the self acclaimed loaner came to Assin Akyeano of the Assin North municipal in the central region with one police officer from Assin Praso police station who is popularly known as Tona which undoubtedly put trust in her to request for the loan from the said woman without fear.


They further said, the whereabout business woman asked the interested natives to pay an initial deposits of 10% each per the requested amounts before giving out the loans to them, of which they made payment's equivalent to ¢40,000 to her with their contact numbers.


According to the aggrieved residents, Abigail, for the past 1 month, she has turndown to their calls, refusing to offer them the loan and above all, refused to refund their money paid to her as initial deposits.


Adding that, they dare not allowed to capture or take pictures of his stature during meetings with the community, saying, she is a business women. 


She claims, its prohibited on her part to be captured on camera and insisted on the residents to deletes his images on their phones. But lucky eluded her and being captured by one of the residents without her noticed.


According to the victims, the alleged fraudster may be in hideout in the central and the Ashanti region therefore, appealing to the general public  especially, market women to be extra vigilantes to avoid duping by any suspicious loaner and reports such cases to the nearest police station to help fish out fraudsters from the society.
