No  Potable Water, No Vote; Residents Of Twifo Aboabo-Aboum Laments

The people of Aboabo Aboum, a suburb of Twifo Atti-Morkwa district in the central region have appealed to the local authority to consider drilling boreholes in the area in order for them to have access to clean and safe drinking water.

Speaking on behalf of the residents, Augustine Manso popularly known as Elder Ananse said, the people in the area are subjected to drinking contaminated water from hand dug shallow wells adding that, the same water that is used for cooking and bathing is also shared with animals.

Mr. Manso, said the state of the water currently  being used for drinking has contributed to a lot of water borne diseases and accident as most children that are sent to draw water end up falling in the wells especially during times when the water levels are very low.

The concerned residents has also appealed to the DCE for Twifo Atti-Morkwa district Assembly Hon. Robert Agyemang Nyantakyi to ensure that about a kilometer road linking the community and the main road should be at least be in it's motorable state for them since the community is a farming community to aid them sending their farm products to the central market center (Twifo Praso) or else no vote for the upcoming general elections.

Mr. Augustine Manso pointed out that, the bad road network in the area makes it difficult for them to deliver or send their farm products especially cocoa beans to purchasing officers on time.

He added that, it is hard to access some areas during the rainy season as they become impassable due to floods.
