Interesting; Ghana Hotels Association Schedules 18/01/20 For It's 4th Awards.

A gathering of Ghana's finest Hotels

The Ghana Hotels Association (GHA) in collaboration with her partners and stakeholders instituted the GHA Awards to reward members and personalities who distinguish themselves in the performance of their hotel businesses. 

The 4th GHA Awards is set to come off at the plush Accra Marriott Hotel on Saturday 18th January 2020.   

Members of the Association will be competing for twenty three (23) award categories on the night including Front of House Team of the Year, Housekeeping Team of the Year, Conference and Banqueting Team of the Year and Most Secured Hotel of the Year. Food and Beverage Team of the Year, Green Hotel of the Year and Most Authentic Ghanaian Hotel of the Year shall also be up for grabs. 

The 4th edition of GHA awards is under theme: Reducing Hotel Rates in Ghana; role of government and hotel operators. Hotel operators, through the Association, have come to the  realization that something needs to done about the high operational costs that have resulted in high rate of hotel services. 

Preparation for the 4th GHA Hotel Awards will start with a Media  Launch scheduled for 7th November, 2019 at Tang Palace Hotel at 4pm prompt.  GHA Platform will come your way with a panel discussion of the theme of the 4th GHA Awards. The discussion will focus on how Government and Hotel Operators can work together to reduce hotel rates in Ghana.

The 4th GHA Awards night and dinner dance will host 350 hotel operstors, government officials, vendors and the general public.

  AFTER YEARS OF MINING IN AKWATIA – GHANA’S NEW ARTIFICIAL LAKE, THE ASUBONE STORY AND OUR TOURISM DRIVE  ABSTRACT.... H. BRAKO Diamonds were first discovered in the Gold Coast Colony (Ghana) near the Birim River close to the town of Abomosu in 1919. The Birim diamond discoveries led mining companies to invest along that river. However, not until 1929 did organized diamond mining begin following additional diamond discoveries made by Ghanaian prospectors in the gravels of Bediebewu streams near Tarkwa. In 1924, the Consolidated African Selection Trust (CAST) was formed and became the major diamond mining company in Ghana. Over 2 million carats were mined by CAST from 1924 to 1939.
