500 Of Our Cars Purchased By Trade And Agric Ministries...Kantanka.


The Chief Executive Officer of local car manufacturer, Kantanka has revealed that the Akufo-Addo government has procured over 500 of their vehicles for various ministries and agencies.

According to Kwadwo Safo Kantanka Junior, most of the cars have been purchased by the Agric and trade ministries.

Speaking to Bola Ray on Starr Chat Wednesday, the Kantanka CEO also acknowledged that the erstwhile Mahama administration purchased some cars from the company.

“Under the Mahama administration, the late Vice President purchased and used some of our cars. But under this government a lot more has been acquired, they have bought about 500 of our cars for the trade and Agric ministries,” he said.

He also praised the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta for having confidence in their cars and using one himself.

The company, he said, intends to produce electric cars by the end of the year.

“By the end of this year, Kantanka will build electric cars that could travel between Accra to Kumasi before recharge. We intend to do that before this year ends.

” Our company is fast growing and currently we have another headquarters at Dubai and the challenge there is healthy for us because they understand luxury and that is good for us,” he said.
