Akosua Barko Foundation Rolls Out Free Vacation Classes For Double track SHS Students In Assin North Constituency

  

Mr Charles Opoku, CEO for Akosua Barko Foundation in collaboration with The Nation Service Personnel in the Assin North District of the Central Region has organized free vacation classes for SHS 2 Double Track Students.

The students will taken through almost all core subjects taught at the second cycle levels.


About 15 National Services teachers have drawn and contracted by Mr Charles Opoku to teach the students. For a period of three months of teaching and learning, an average of over 200 students  are expected to Avail themselves. 


In a close chat with Mr. Charles Opoku, CEO for Akosua Barko Foundation, He revealed To *Oman fm news Reporter Nana Yaw Entsie Prof Ike* that he has passion for education, hence his motivation to organize the vacation classes free for SHS students to enable them make up for topics in some subjects they fall short of or are unable to comprehend; therefore will need further tuition in such areas.


“I have always yeaned to improve the academic levels of students” He stated passionately. 

I have plans to do more in the area of education by instituting some scholarship schemes for the brilliant but needy students to enable them acquire second cycle and tertiary education, He added.


“Why are we all not supporting these little ones in any means possible to better their standards” He  quizzed. I get worried when students perform abysmally at the Senior High School level making them unable in most instances to continue their education to the next well which is the tertiary, were his exact words. “I will do more in the area of education when the opportunity presents itself”, He stated emphatically.

BRAKO Diamonds were first discovered in the Gold Coast Colony (Ghana) near the Birim River close to the town of Abomosu in 1919. The Birim diamond discoveries led mining companies to invest along that river. However, not until 1929 did organized diamond mining begin following additional diamond discoveries made by Ghanaian prospectors in the gravels of Bediebewu streams near Tarkwa.
