Group Petitions Road Minister Over Bad State Of Assin Akropong Wurakese Highway

PETITION TO FIX THE BAD STATE OF ASSIN AKROPONG WURAKESE HIGHWAY

Dear Hon. Amoako Attah, while remaining grateful for your developmental road interventions and projects in Ghana, we wish to express our displeasure and call your attention to the deplorable state of Assin Akropong road which has been finally abandoned by D.H.M Construction Company.

Hon. Amoako Attah, the people of Assin Akropong and wurakese have suffered a lot during this raining season as due to the bad state of our road. After several efforts to those in authority for why the construction company (D.H.M) has abandoned the project and also all our plea had yielded nothing to bring back the company to site.

It has become prudent to demand immediate action to make an effort to bring a new construction company to fix our road for us as soon as possible to safe lives of the people.

The current state of our road seems to be the most dangerous road with unimaginable life taking effects on we the people.

Enough is enough, we cannot sit idle for our road to destroy our business, reducing the life span of our vehicles, serious health condition including the rate of hardship in the community due to the bad state of our road.

WHO WE ARE

We are individuals and youth who reside hail and or have chosen to have close connection with our birth root or hometown. We stand for development and seek to be the mouth piece for our hometown Assin Akropong.

WHY NOW

All the promises given before and after election has not been fertile and considering the delaying tactics on Assin Foso Twifo Praso Road by D.H.M company, who have no hope in them.

Again our road have currently become the worst to prove. Also Hon. Amoako Attah, you have on several times ask the company to move to site but they have refused.

We need our roads fixed now!

OUR ULTIMATUM

We have therefore resolved that, a proper update on our road must be given not later than 20th September, 2021. We also want to see a contractor on our road to start and complete the project within a reasonable time lines.

If all this fail within the time line, we will be compelled to demonstrate to show our displeasure.

Hon. Amoako Attah, please command the fixing of our roads now. This is our petition and demand from you.

NPP And NDC Playing "Chaskele"  With EC... Rev Dr Worlanyo Mensah Tensions between Ghana's Electoral Commission (EC), National Democratic Congress (NDC), and New Patriotic Party (NPP) have escalated over alleged discrepancies in the 2024 voter register. Rev Dr Samuel Worlanyo Mensah, vice presidential candidate for the All People's Congress (APC), economist and a lecture at Wisconsin university Accra, has warned that the NDC and NPP's actions during the limited voter registration and special transfer of vote exercise have compromised the register's integrity. "The two major parties were bussing people from their homes to registration centers, encouraging minors and foreigners to register," Dr. Worlanyo alleged. The NDC recently raised concerns upon receiving the provisional voters register, citing bloated electoral rolls in certain polling stations and alleged attempts by the EC to rig the December 7 polls in favor of the governing NPP. NPP Government Shortchanges Cocoa Farmers: A Closer Look at the Discrepancies.... Twifo Atti-Morkwa NDC Communication Officer. In recent years, Ghana's cocoa farmers have faced significant disparities in the payments they receive for their hard work. A comparison of current cocoa pricing practices under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government with those from the era of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) highlights a troubling trend: farmers are being shortchanged, while the government profits disproportionately. As of today, the global market price for cocoa stands at $6,470 per ton. With an exchange rate of Ghc 16.35 to $1, this translates to Ghc 105,784.50 per ton in Ghanaian cedis. Given that one ton comprises 16 bags, this sets the price per bag at Ghc 6,611.00. However, the current government pays cocoa farmers only Ghc 3,000 per ton—just 45.39% of the total price—retaining the remaining 54.61%, or Ghc 3,609.52 per ton. In stark contrast, under the NDC government led by J...

AFTER YEARS OF MINING IN AKWATIA – GHANA’S NEW ARTIFICIAL LAKE, THE ASUBONE STORY AND OUR TOURISM DRIVE  ABSTRACT.... H. BRAKO Diamonds were first discovered in the Gold Coast Colony (Ghana) near the Birim River close to the town of Abomosu in 1919. The Birim diamond discoveries led mining companies to invest along that river. However, not until 1929 did organized diamond mining begin following additional diamond discoveries made by Ghanaian prospectors in the gravels of Bediebewu streams near Tarkwa. In 1924, the Consolidated African Selection Trust (CAST) was formed and became the major diamond mining company in Ghana. Over 2 million carats were mined by CAST from 1924 to 1939. CAST’s early success led to investment in other diamond exploration and mining ventures in West Africa particularly in Ghana – resulting in the establishment of Great Consolidated Diamond (GCD).  1n 1963 Lake Asubone was created artificially in Asubone near Akwatia in Denkyembour District of Gh...
