OMANKRADO DONATES TO ASSIN AKOMFODI POLYCLINIC:

The OMANKRADO of Assin Akonfodi in the Assin North District of the central region NANA APPIAH PENNIN DACOSTER has presented Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worth about ¢100,000.00 to The Assin Akonfodi Polyclinic to help prevent the spread Coronavirus in his District.

The items, which include 4000 pieces of gloves, 1000 pieces face mask, veronica bucket, 10 pieces of Protective clothing 5 gallon of Sanitizers and among others, were presented to the Assin Akonfodi Polyclinic for distribution.

His intervention comes at a time Ghana has recorded about one hundred and thirty six (136) cases.

Speaking to Oman Fm Reporter Isaac Donkoh(PROF  IKE), said the measures put in place to fight the virus is very necessary and all should adhere to  President Nana Akufo-Addo's Directives and preventive measures to combat the deadly disease.

He said supplying the materials to the Polyclinic is another way to help bring the spread of the virus down and urged The people of Assin Akonfodi to take  the handswashing with soap guidelines and apply the sanitizers regularly. 

Receiving the Items, The District health Director for Assin North District Mr George Opoku Asomadu expressed his Gratitude to 
 NANA APPIAH PENNIN DACOSTER for his kind gesture and called on other stakeholders to emulate NANA APPIAH PENNIN DACOSTER 
 to come to their aid so that they ensure quality healthcare in the Assin Akonfodi community and the Assin North District as a whole.

BRAKO Diamonds were first discovered in the Gold Coast Colony (Ghana) near the Birim River close to the town of Abomosu in 1919. The Birim diamond discoveries led mining companies to invest along that river. However, not until 1929 did organized diamond mining begin following additional diamond discoveries made by Ghanaian prospectors in the gravels of Bediebewu streams near Tarkwa. In 1924, the Consolidated African Selection Trust (CAST) was formed and became the major diamond mining company in Ghana. Over 2 million carats were mined by CAST from 1924 to 1939.
