UNJUST DISMISSAL OF BOHYEBA FM'S NEWS EDITOR BY THE CEO, HON. JOHN NTIM FORDJOUR

UNJUST DISMISSAL OF BOHYEBA FM'S NEWS EDITOR BY THE CEO, HON. JOHN NTIM FORDJOUR

The Ghana Journalists Network (GJN) is appalled by the unjust and inhumane dismissal of the News Editor of Bohyeba Fm, Mr. Francis Arthur Marfo widely known in the media space as Kofi Tutu.

The Fm Station is located at Nyankumasi Ahenkuro in the Assin South District of the Central Region.

The seasoned journalist and a blogger was apparently dismissed on Friday afternoon by text message.

Thereafter, he was disrespectfully removed from all the station's platforms by the manger of the station without explanation.

The station which is owned by the Deputy Minister of Education, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour as doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, accused the enterprising journalist of supporting his town folks to demand Social accountability from him, the District Assembly and government.

The station accused Mr. Tutu of using his social media platforms to circulate a proposed demonstration flyer titled "Fix Nyankumasi Ahenkuro Market Now."

The said demonstration was being spearheaded by the youth and traders at the Nyankomasi Ahenkro market.

The station believes Mr. Tutu's action was ill motive to create disaffection and apprehension in the people in the area.

The move followed failure by the government to construct the Nyankomasi-Ahenkro market after nearly four years of demolition by the MP and Assembly.

The market is in a sorry state currently. The GJN views nothing criminal about Mr. Tutu's desire to demand Social accountability from duty bearers.

The 1992 Constitution of Ghana makes it explicitly clear on the freedom of individuals to free and responsible speech, association, and the excise of civic responsibilities.

GJN stands by Mr. Tutu and urges him to at all times stand by the truth, and be a religiously citizen but not a spectator as espoused by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his inaugural address.

GJN also entreats journalists at the station to be diligent in the discharge of their lawful duties.

Thank you.

Signed

Shadrack Owusu Asante

Secretary GJN.

Parts of the aluminum roofing sheets are rusting away, while their remains hang loosely on the tiny erected concrete pillars. Class sessions end abruptly whenever the clouds gather.  “Our roof is ripping off. And when it rains, it leaks into our classroom, so we have to end classes.  “When it leaks, our books get wet and we are not able...

How could you fall for a lady with such long fingers nails? – Kennedy Agyapong to Kan Dapaah

How could you fall for a lady with such long fingers nails? – Kennedy Agyapong to Kan Dapaah Member of Parliament of Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong is of the view that Albert Kan Dapaah should not be crucified over the amorous video with a lady identified as Chantelle Kujawu but is wondering how the National Security minister could fall for a lady with long and scary finger nails. The legislator making a submission on Oman FM indicated that he is “not clean”, neither is any man, hence will be unfair and hypocritical to castigate his fellow man for engaging in such an act. “Let the clean cast the stone,” he said but hilariously questioned why Mr. Kan Dapaah could not fall for something better. “I looked at the lady’s finger nails and wondered ‘what could National Security minister be doing with such finger nails?’” Like Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram Samuel Nartey George and satirist Kwame A Plus, Mr. Agyapong suggested that the incident was orchestr...
