NLA Wishes Staff, Stakeholders and Ghanaians Merry Christmas On behalf of the Board led by  His Eminence Togbe Francis Nyonyo, and Management led by Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw,  the National Lottery Authority ( NLA ) wishes all its Staff, Stakeholders, particularly the Lotto Marketing Companies who serve as the backbone of the Authority, and Ghanaians a Happy Christmas and a fruitful 2020. 2019 has been one of the most successful years for the Authority as we were able to launch and roll out new products such as NLA VAG Lotto, Daywa, Super  6 and Lucky 3. God willing 2020, the Authority would focus on the full implementation of the E-kiosk Project, aimed at contributing to the digitization of the economy spearheaded by Akufo-Addo's Administration. President Nana Addo - commissions First Gas For Karpowership The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has turned on the valves for the use of natural gas from the country’s gas fields, instead of Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO), on the 450-megawatt Karpowership for the generation of power. LPG, UPP disagree on referendum call off The Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) and the United Progressive Party (UPP) have expressed different sentiments following President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s decision to call off the December 17 national referendum. Whereas the LPG laid the blame at the feet of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for “exhibiting bad faith” in the whole referendum process, the UPP is convinced that the president’s “failure to undertake adequate education and his Yes stand for the referendum caused the fiasco”. Sharing their views in separate interviews with the Daily Graphic, the two parties agreed that the manner and way in which the referendum turned out was disappointing. The Ashanti regional police command has cautioned Media Houses across the country to stop creating platforms for lotto fraudsters to advertise fake numbers to the unsuspecting public. The Ashanti regional police command gave the warning at a News conference in Kumasi following the arrest of five suspected lotto fraudsters who advertise their numbers on radio and television to dupe people who patronise their service for quick money.
