Akufo-Addo gives Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) 84 vehicles

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has received a major boost as the government has presented some 84 multi-purpose vehicles to the security establishment.

The vehicles, according to President Nana Akufo-Addo, who presided over the commissioning ceremony at the Abugah Square, Gondar Barracks, Burma Camp, includes 33 armoured personnel carriers, 41 assorted Toyota vehicles, three water tankers, one self-loading recovery track, one refrigeration van and five utility vehicles for waste disposal and management.

Mr Akufo-Addo, in his statement, said: "As your Commander-in-Chief, I am taking steps to ensure that your needs are met," Mr Akufo-Addo said.

*Deterring Potential Aggressors*

President Akufo-Addo urged the Ghana Armed Forces to continue in its efforts aimed at maintaining the peace that Ghana continues to enjoy.

"I urge you to continue to collaborate with the Ministries of National Security, the Interior, Foreign Affairs, Finance, and with the Ghana Revenue Authority as well as all relevant agencies to help maintain a resolute, robust front that will deter potential aggressors from having any thoughts of attempting to destabilise our country or derail our socio-economic gains we have chalked so far", he emphasised.

He further admonished GAF to ensure that it falls on the high level of discipline it is noted for as an institution, to maintain the vehicles.

For his part, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Obed Boamah Akwa, in his speech, said that the gesture of the government of Ghana will certainly reduce the transportation challenges of the GAF.

"By this gesture, the gap has been narrowed as far as our transportation requirements are concerned," the Chief of Defence Staff stated.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Defence, Dominic Nitiwu,l has reiterated the government's commitment to retooling the Ghana Armed Forces.

He noted that the vehicles presented will go a long way to support the Armed Forces in the performance of their duty of securing the territorial integrity of Ghana.

How could you fall for a lady with such long fingers nails? – Kennedy Agyapong to Kan Dapaah Member of Parliament of Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong is of the view that Albert Kan Dapaah should not be crucified over the amorous video with a lady identified as Chantelle Kujawu but is wondering how the National Security minister could fall for a lady with long and scary finger nails. The legislator making a submission on Oman FM indicated that he is “not clean”, neither is any man, hence will be unfair and hypocritical to castigate his fellow man for engaging in such an act. “Let the clean cast the stone,” he said but hilariously questioned why Mr. Kan Dapaah could not fall for something better. “I looked at the lady’s finger nails and wondered ‘what could National Security minister be doing with such finger nails?’” Like Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram Samuel Nartey George and satirist Kwame A Plus, Mr. Agyapong suggested that the incident was orchestr...
