Assin Akropong Presbyterian JHS School Get A Facelift By Mr. Frank Asante.
Teachers and pupils of Assin Akropong Presbyterian Junior High School (JHS) school in the Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region have expressed gratitude to Mr Frank Asante who a building contractor and the project coordinator for Assin Akropong Youth Association (AAYA) for renovating a 3-unit classroom block for the school.
The school had become a death trap for more than a decade. The old building, which was built in 1968 never saw any renovation before.
The dilapidated building was a threat to the safety of the pupils, teaching and some residents.
Speaking to the media at the ceremony, Mr Frank Asante said the project which is valued at GH17,000.00 will provide a better and safe environment for the kids to learn.
“I have taken education as one of my corporate social responsibilities and I think it is very important because this is the beginning of learning for our children who are the next generation. And therefore if we give them a better and safe environment that can encourage their learning, then we are contributing to a better future for them as individuals, their family and the community. So the structure that you see here cost about GH17,000.00” he noted.
I would like to urge all and sundry to let us stand shoulder to shoulder with the government and partner with all agencies that seek development and work together. Therefore my call on other corporate bodies and diaspora of Assin Akropong is that, if you can help, in your own small way, you should be able to do that. So let’s all compliment the government in building infrastructure to improve the lives of individuals who need help,” he added
He said providing an enabling environment in the school would eventually culminate into improved performance among the school pupils.
Mr Asante explained the renovation of the 3-unit classroom block with supervision from other members of the Association and the community leaders took one month to complete. He also revealed his vision of establishing support fund to assist brilliant students in the community especially Presbyterian school.
Mr. John Acquasi, the Headteacher of the school lauded Mr Frank Asante for the intervention, saying “the renovation of the new classroom block and provision of stationary to pupils would enhance teaching and learning in the school”.
Teaching and learning were halted any time it rained and was greatly obstructing during the peak of the rainy season, Headmaster of the school Mr John Acquasi told the media.
“Mr. Frank Asante has been our bedrock in terms of corporate social responsibility, I want to thank him for being with us to enhance effective teaching and learning and uplift the name of Assin Akropong Presbyterian JHS schools and the entire Community”.
Assembly member for the area Hon.Tweneboa-Kodua urged the school authorities to properly maintain the facility to benefit generations yet unborn.
He urged parents to regularly monitor their children to ensure an improvement in their academic performance.
He emphasized the importance of education in poverty reduction and the general empowerment of an individual.
The renovated classroom block was inaugurated in a ceremony on 27th January 2022.

On the other hand, Mr Frank Asante cut sod at Assin Akropong to commence work on the construction of an ultramodern Events Center.
According to Mr. Asante, the project encompasses exhibition halls, events centers, office complex, hi-tech gym, theme park, electronic,(I.T) library, conference hall etc.
Speaking in an interview with the media, Mr. Frank Asante, established his readiness to move to the site, as the entire project is expected to complete within a period of 3 years.
