Presidential Tour In Central Region: Twifo Atti-Morkwa NDC Bare Teeth On NPP For Discrediting Them On District Hospital Facility And Other projects.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Executives in Twifo Atti-Morkwa of the central region has displayed their anger on the NPP government led by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for dishonoring the former president John Dramani Mahama on 60 bed Twifo Praso District Hospital Euroget project which started in 2015 and the various roles played from 2014 by the then MP- Hon. Samuel Ato Amoah, the then DCE- Hon Bossman Osei Hyiaman and the sector Minister then.

Attached is the full text of Pres release issued by the NDC constituency communications officer.

Today will go down in history as a day a sitting President visited our Constituency in the final moments of his last year in office but couldn't commission even one project his Govt initiated and completed for good four years in power but desperately trying hard to appropriate monumental infrastructural projects of his predecessor as his own.

We are informed by Government spokesmen that as part of the Campaign visit of President Nana Akufo Addo to our Constituency today, he will be inspecting the new 60 bed Twifo Praso District Hospital which is the widely known in the Constituency as a John Dramani Mahama project & perform ground breaking ceremony for the new River Pra Bridge project also initiated and commenced by his predecessor and knowing this non-performing  President for his inate desire not to give credit where it is due, it has become imperative to welcome him with the facts.

The good people of Twifo Atti Morkwa will forever remain grateful to JM for this wonderful 60 bed Twifo Praso District Hospital Euroget project which started in 2015 and the various roles played from 2014 by the then MP- Hon. Samuel Ato Amoah, the then DCE- Hon Bossman Osei Hyiaman and the sector Minister then. As at 6th Jan 2017, when the NDC administration was exiting power, work on this project was about 60% complete and it is factual. On May 5th 2015, President John Mahama accompanied by Hon George Kweku Rickett-Hagan, Hon Inusah Fuseini, Regional Executives and other officials visited the site to inspect the progress of ongoing works at a brief ceremony c that our untiring RCO, Hon Kwesi Dawood was the MC.

By this, we only hope that our President who is noted for dishonesty, rewriting history, non-performance, plagiarism and appropriation of projects of his predecessor, will not as usual take the glory for himself as far as this project is concerned as he steps foot there today.

Again, the Twifo Praso new Bridge which is a major wish of the Constituents was also in the hands of a contractor through the leadership of JM of which would've been completed & commissioned for use by now had it not been the exit of NDC in 2016 and President Akufo Addo's decision to halt all ongoing road & bridge projects for contract auditing. The contractors begun with their site office, mobilising their equipments to site and ready to commence work till this Govt stopped them upon taking over governance in 2017. However, in few months time, the next NDC Govt of JM and Chief David Vondee shall see to the immediate construction of this project.

Nonetheless, we hope our return will be a massive game changer to uplift the image of Twifo Atti Morkwa.

Long live Twifo Atti Morkwa, long live Ghana.

Signed

Comrade Benjamin Coleman,
Communications Officer, TAM NDC.

Background of the hospital project

The contract for the construction of the project was signed in May 2015 and work was expected to be completed within 18 months but was delayed because of some circumstances beyond the company’s control.

The facility, which is on a 102,000-metre square (M2) land, also hosts a two double-storey staff housing unit made up of four flats each and two single units which are also being worked on.

A unique feature of the project is that it contains a housing block comprising six bedrooms where lactating mothers can rest and attend to their babies.

The facility has made provision for an ambulance station to provide prompt services for patients.

To tackle the issue of power outages which most health facilities are confronted with, the project has made provision for two high-tech power plants that will be programmed to switch on automatically when the main source of electricity fails.

The facility also consist of waste management plants and highly improved sewage systems were being put in place to recycle waste at the facility.

C/R: Assin Oboba Kokorowa Pupils Are Forced To Study In Dilapidated And Death Trap Building The fate of over 500 pupils at the Assin Obobakokrowa D/A Basic School in the Assin North District of the Central Region hangs in the balance as they learn under dilapidated structures. The the Assin Obobakokrowa D/A Basic School has not seen any major rehabilitation since its establishment in 1970s. Parents and residents in and around the community are appealing for urgent assistance due to the deteriorating condition of their classroom blocks .  The school's infrastructure has become unsafe, forcing pupils to learn under dire circumstances. Parts of the aluminum roofing sheets are rusting away, while their remains hang loosely on the tiny erected concrete pillars. Class sessions end abruptly whenever the clouds gather.  “Our roof is ripping off. And when it rains, it leaks into our classroom, so we have to end classes.  “When it leaks, our books get wet and we are not able...

BRAKO Diamonds were first discovered in the Gold Coast Colony (Ghana) near the Birim River close to the town of Abomosu in 1919. The Birim diamond discoveries led mining companies to invest along that river. However, not until 1929 did organized diamond mining begin following additional diamond discoveries made by Ghanaian prospectors in the gravels of Bediebewu streams near Tarkwa. In 1924, the Consolidated African Selection Trust (CAST) was formed and became the major diamond mining company in Ghana. Over 2 million carats were mined by CAST from 1924 to 1939. CAST’s early success led to investment in other diamond exploration and mining ventures in West Africa particularly in Ghana – resulting in the establishment of Great Consolidated Diamond (GCD).  1n 1963 Lake Asubone was created artificially in Asubone near Akwatia in Denkyembour District of Gh...
