Twifo/Atti-Morkwa District is one of the twenty administrative districts in the Central Region of Ghana. It was formerly known as the Twifo-Hemang-Lower Denkyira District with its capital at Twifo Praso. In 2012, government split the Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District into two districts namely Twifo/Atti-Morkwa District and Hemang Lower Denkyira District (Local Government Act 462 of1992 by Legislative Instrument 2023). The district is zoned in five area councils: Twifo Praso, Mampong, Agona, Wamaso and Nyinase. 


There are 28 electoral areas in the district, and the District Assembly has currently 40 Assembly Members with 28 elected members and 12 appointees.The district is bounded on the north by the Upper Denkyira East Municipalat the South by the Hemang Lower Denkyira District, at the West by the Mpohor Wassa East District and at the East by the Assin North Municipal and Assin South District.


Mr. Robert Agyemang Nyantakyi is the district Chief Executive (DCE). Hon Robert Agyemang Nyantakyi was nominated by His Excellency Nana Addo Dunkwa Akuffo Addo and subsequently confirmed by Honourable Assembly members as the substantive District Chief Executive on 10thMay 2017. 


Hon Robert Agyemang Nyantakyi holds Bachelor of Education in Social Studies degree from University of Education and Masters in Governance & Sustainable Development from University of Cape Coast.

Hon. District Chief Executive is a professional teacher and has been inthe teaching profession for over a decade. Until his appointment, He was the head teacher of Aduabeng D/A Basic School in Twifo Atti-Morkwa District.


As the District Chief Executive, Hon Robert Agyemang Nyantakyi is both the Executive and Administrative head of the District. He is also the Chief Representative of His Excellency the president in the District. district Chief Executive (DCE).

Ever since he was charged to manage and ensures the development of the District , he has done and being doing excellence projects and programs with the help of Hon Assembly Members in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa district.

Below are some of the completed and ongoing projects and programs in the district.

Construction of 1NO. 3unit classroom block with ancillary facilities and supply of furniture under Educational Infrastructure which is at its complete stage at Akwakrom, a complete renovation of district education office block under the educational infrastructure at Twifo Praso.

An ongoing Construction of 1No.8 seater Water closet (WC) toilet and 4No. shower and urinal under sanitation infrastructure at Twifo Praso Taxi station. Complete constructed of 1No.3unit classroom block with ancillary facilities and supply of furniture under Educational Infrastructure at Nuamakrom.

An ongoing Construction of 1No.CHPS compound with ancillary facilities under Health Infrastructure at Twifo Osenagya. Construction of 2No.culvert under road infrastructure which has been completed at Twensukoda and Praso Confidence.


Under the Health Infrastructure, there is an ongoing Construction of 1No.CHPS compound with ancillary facilities at Mbaabasa. The district has been able to supplied 400 No mono desk for examination centres under the educational infrastructure at examination centres in the district.

Moreover, the district has been able to supplied 1100No. Dual desk to some selected Basic schools under the educational infrastructure, distributed of 10 set of computers to selected schools under Educational infrastructure for ICT training.

The district has purchased 1 pick-up for Twifo Praso senior high school under Educational Infrastructure to ease transport, supplied of 300 bags of Cements, 15Pkt of roofing sheets and other building materials to various communities for communities initiated project under community infrastructure.

Drilled of 20 hand dug boreholes for selected communities under water and sanitation infrastructure, maintenance of 100 streetlights under the energy and power infrastructure in some selected communities. the Twifo-Atimokwaa district has distributed 215 complete streetlights to selected communities under the energy and power infrastructure.

Dredged of main drains in Praso township under sanitation infrastructure and the huge refuse at mount Zion Pentecost at Twifo Praso near Praso mount Pentecost church has been removed/cleared in other to prevent disease under sanitation.

An ongoing Construction of nurses quarters under Health Infrastructure at Bimponso, Ayaase CHPS has also been rehabilitated under the infrastructure. 

Donations of 20 Motorbikes to education service and district agriculture office has been made under Educational and agriculture infrastructure. an ongoing Construction of 5 community mechanized solar powered water system at Twensukoda, Ntiamoah Nyamebekyere under water and sanitation infrastructure.
ongoing Construction of 5 No.10 seater community toilet at Ayaase Bepobeng, Kayireku Twipass and Amapoma under water and sanitation infrastructure.

Construction of 1 extra modern warehouse for storage of food, the project is ongoing almost at its completing stage at Twifo Moseaso under Agriculture infrastructure.  Nursing of 50,000 palm trees for onward distribution to farmers following the government's planting for food and Rural development initiatives under Agriculture infrastructure. ongoing Nursing of 1,000,000 cocoa seedlings for onward distribution to farmers within the district under Agriculture infrastructure.

Patched of (1km) potholes in Twifo Praso township under road construction, ongoing Construction of(15km) Praso-to- Ntiamoah feeder Roads, and ongoing Construction of 1No.6unit KVIP and 1 borehole at Nkuhunho under water and sanitation infrastructure.


supplied of electricity transformers to Maafi Wawase, Abodwese, Mirekukrom and others. Constructed Telecommunication mast to improve telecommunication at Praso KE, Deeper life Church area, Osenagya, Nyenase, Kayireku, Ayaase and others.

An ongoing Construction of 6unit classroom block under educational infrastructure at Twifo Praso, supplied of 160 Table and chairs to Twifo Praso basic schools under Educational Infrastructure, complete Construction of 3 culvert at Denyense Asensuho Agave under road infrastructure., supplied of 150 Table and chairs to Morkwa SHS.

An ongoing Construction of 4unit KVIP at Twifo Praso SHS under water and sanitation infrastructure. 120 students beds regimental Band has also been donated to Twifo Praso SHS under educational infrastructure.

Last but not the least, the District Chief Executive's Resistance has been renovated to suit the standard of the Assembly at Twifo Praso. Rural Electrification under energy and power infrastructure is also ongoing at Tweapease, Asamoakrom, Bimponso, Canna, Eauakese-Akyre, Bimpon-Agya No2, Zakarie and others.



On these completed and an ongoing projects and programs, the DCE Hon. Robert Agyemang Nyantakyi has called on all residents of Twifo Atti-Morkwa district to be good citizens but not spectators towards the development and betterment of the the district.
