Importation Of Rice Will Be A Thing Of The Past Soon.... NPP MP.

  The Member of Parliament (MP) for Twifo Atti Morkwa  Constituency in the ticket of the governing New Patroric Party (NPP)    of the central region  who double as the Vice Chairman for the Parliamentary Select Committee on Food and Agriculture and Cocoa Affair, Hon Abraham Dwomo Odoom has stated and revealed that, Ghana will soon stop spending of the huge Amount on Rice importation.

According to Hon Odoom, Ghana spends over 1.2Billion Dollars on importation of Rice every year which is causing the country to run at lost.

In an interview with Vision One News and Rich Fm News Reporter Nana Yaw Entsie explained that, its about time we all pay much Attention to rice farming and not cocoa farming alone since the two are of equal important and can produce much revenue to the country.

Hon Odoom said this when he presented Modern Rice Machines to Rice Farmers within his District where he pleaded with the farmers to involve themselves more into the rice farming.

     Meanwhile, the Regional Agric Director Mr Hilbert Dela Fiwo explained that, all District in Central Region has the potential of growing rice but in the mean time, the Regional Agric department is selecting only Nine(9) District for this special Rice initiative.

He said, they are going to give them agricultural training and also provide them with subsidized agricultural fertilizers, they are also going to feed them with Modern Machines to ease the rice farming in this (9) districts.

Mr Hilbert Dela Fiwo added that, data's will be collected from All Farmers within this (9) districts to at least make business sense.
He again encouraged farmers to involve themselves more into the rice farming.

    Finally, some of the farmer shared their excitement about how this machines are going to help them.
